Renovation works for the “My Street” city improvement project began in late April, with construction ahead of schedule and many upgrades already completed.

The scale of the reconstruction has sparked mixed reactions among residents: social media still features photos of city streets in trenches and behind construction fences.
Muscovites are exercising patience: the construction work is expected to be fully completed by City Day. Nevertheless, some social‑media users have taken a humorous view of the massive build.
The reconstruction has deprived many shops on the central streets of customers, forcing them to find unconventional solutions.
For example, owners of cafés on New Arbat—such as “Varenichnaya,” “Obed Buffet,” “Lakki Luciano,” and “Tarantino”—used the construction fences to attract patrons with tongue‑in‑cheek invitations.
The improvement works on Tverskaya have already been completed (a month ahead of schedule). Most residents praised the street’s new appearance.
In particular, social‑media users highlighted its modern design, wide sidewalks, energy‑saving streetlights, parking spaces, new road surface, and underground wiring.
